Looking for a TV Time alternative?

What CouchRot does, what it does not, and whether it fits.

TV Time shut down after July 15, 2026. The app left the App Store and Google Play, the website went offline, and its owner said account data would be deleted. If you were one of its millions of users, you are looking for somewhere to put your watching. Here is an honest read on whether that place is CouchRot.

What CouchRot does

What CouchRot does not do

CouchRot is not an episode tracker. It does not tick off season 3, episode 7, it has no air-date calendar, and it does not import the TV Time export. If ticking off episodes is the thing you miss most, a dedicated tracker such as Trakt or Simkl will fit you better than we will, and we would rather say so here than after you have installed us.

If what you actually used TV Time for was deciding what to watch next, keeping a list, and seeing what friends thought, that is the whole of CouchRot, and it takes under five minutes a visit.

Questions people ask

Can I import my TV Time export?
Not today. CouchRot does not read the TV Time CSV files. You rate what you have seen inside the app, a few taps per title, and the picks use those ratings.
Does CouchRot track episodes?
No. CouchRot works at the level of a show or a movie: save it, rate it, see where it streams. There is no episode checklist and no calendar of air dates.
Is it free?
Yes. Picks, the watchlist, ratings, the CouchRot Score and the friends view are free. A Premium tier adds extras, and nothing stands between you and your first saved pick.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. CouchRot is on iPhone, and the web version works on any phone. Leave your email on the Android page and we will send one message the day it lands. Android waitlist.
